Who Can Make a Nomination?
Any person, anywhere in the world can make up to four(4) nominations of
retired football players to The International Football Hall Of
Fame once a
year. You can use one nomination for each of 4 positions, but your
nominations do not have to reflect these different positions.
Can Anyone Be Nominated?
Only football players who have played at full international level and who
have been retired from the game for three years may be nominated. Your
nomination can include any player from throughout the history of the
game and from any country, not just your own.
How Do I Make A Nomination?
Your nomination can be made directly here, over our special IFHOF voting
system and must be made directly to The International Football Hall Of
Fame. All nominations will be collated on a database from which a final
list will be produced.
Who Will Make The Final Shortlist?
A Selection Committee comprised of 10 ex-international football players and
chaired by a member of the P.F.A., who also has a vote, will select a shortlist
of fifty nominees from the initial list.
This Selection Committee will be brought together at The International
Football Hall Of Fame during one weekend of the year when they will discuss
and debate their final choices and produce a shortlist of fifty candidates for
election to The International Football Hall Of Fame.
Who Will Finally Be Elected A 'Hall Of Famer'?
This final shortlist of fifty nominees is then sent to the elected sports
journalists from over 100 of the FIFA registered countries. The journalists choose
their top five players and send them back to The International Football
Hall Of Fame.
The top five nominees voted for are elected to The International Football Hall Of Fame.
Election will take place during a designated weekend and will be the climax
of celebratory live and media events.
Life-Time Achievement Awards
Each year up to two awards can be made by The International Football
Hall Of Fame for coaches and officials.
The International Football Hall Of Fame will take suggestions from third
parties but the final decision is at The International Football Hall Of
Fame's discretion.
These annual awards will constitute a separate attraction in The
International Football Hall Of Fame family visitor attraction and will be
bestowed in recognition of outstanding contributions to the international game.
The International Football Hall of Fame reserves the right to
make changes
to these rules as they deem appropriate.
